A step by step guide helping you care for your cherished garments

A soft natural bre will always require a gentle level of care to keep its natural look and feel luxurious as the rst day it arrived. The Lona Team have put together a step by step guide to explain and help guide you through cleaning your delicate garments so that they remain in their best and most beautiful condition
Hand-Washing your delicate Cashmere, Wool & Mohair
Fill a basin with lukewarm water and add a cap of our Lona Scott Cashmere Laundry Detergent and gently massage the detergent into the fabric. Mix well and allow the garment to soak for a few minutes, then start to gently hand-wash it. Always remember lukewarm water, never hot (hot water will shrink the bres). Once washed, softly shape the garment into a loose ball and press it against the side of the basin to remove all excess water. Avoid stretching, or twisting your garments too hard as it can stretch the original shape of it.

Dry Cleaning
If your garment is stained or has smaller details such as buttons, dry cleaning might be the best option. It is also a perfect way to wash your garments before placing them back into ‘winter storage’ as it will keep unwanted bugs away and have a clean scent - to remain fresh over the storage period.
Drying your garments
Lay your cherished garments at on a surface with high airow. For the best result, avoid hanging cashmere & wool garments, as laying it at preserves its original silhouette. This drying method ensures your garment retains itsshape and lasts longer.
Extra maintenance
For extra essential aftercare and maintenance, use our Cashmere Comb by gliding it in one direction across the fabric in short elegant strokes, delicately removing any pills or imperfections.
To remove any creases from your garments, you can iron your garments on a very low setting, by turning your items inside-out placing a fabric between the cashmere and iron. Alternatively, you can use a hand steamer for similar results.

Protecting your delicate Cashmere, Wool & Mohair from moths
For best results store your garment in our luxurious Lona Scott Cashmere Storage Bag, to preserve the garment’s beautiful shape and avoid attracting any unwanted bugs or moths. The attached natural Cedar-wood block at the back of the storage bag helps repel any moths that might want to ruin your cashmere bres. For an additional touch of freshness and protection, we recommend spraying your items with a Lavender or Cedarwood scented mist
