Sustainability at Lona Scott: Natural Fibres, Made to Last
For us, sustainability is not a trend or a capsule collection. It is simply how we think about every piece we make: what it is made from, how long it will last, and how easily it can be cared for and repaired along the way.
Natural fibres first
Every Lona Scott piece begins with natural fibres: pure cashmere and lambswool. We do not build our collections on synthetic blends, because natural fibres behave differently over a lifetime of wear. They are renewable, they feel better against the skin, and at the very end of their life they break down naturally rather than lingering as plastic waste.
Synthetic knitwear also sheds tiny plastic fibres with every wash. Choosing natural fibres is one of the simplest swaps you can make, and we wrote about it in more depth in our guide to switching from synthetics to cashmere.
Designed to last, not for a season
The most sustainable garment is the one that never needs replacing. That is why our designs are deliberately timeless: classic scarves, capes, jumpers and accessories that sit comfortably in a wardrobe for years, rather than chasing a single season's trends.
Quality plays its part too. Well made cashmere and lambswool, worn and looked after properly, softens beautifully with age instead of wearing out. Fewer, better pieces, worn often and loved for longer, will always beat a drawer full of knitwear that lasts one winter.
Care and repair, not replace
Longevity only works if looking after your knitwear feels easy. Our cashmere aftercare guide covers washing, drying and storing your pieces so they stay at their best, season after season.
And when life happens, a snag, a small hole or a tired edge does not have to mean the end of a favourite scarf. Our Care and Repair service and repair kits exist to help you mend and refresh your pieces, keeping them in use and out of landfill.
Responsibly sourced, cruelty free
We use responsibly sourced, natural fibres and our collections are cruelty free. We believe true luxury is found in the details, from the fibres we choose to the way each piece feels and wears, and that quality and responsibility should always come together.
You can read more about our approach on our Sustainability page. In the meantime, our promise stays simple: natural fibres, timeless design, and pieces made to be worn, loved and reached for year after year.
